Ane interesting area of comparison is the use of and
organisation of elective care - highly specialised units. This has been
studied in Denmark, with a focus on efficient production of large
volumes of similar but advanced procedures. The case - Heart Center
Varde is presented below.
North - South learning opportunities - India
Among the developed countries, Sweden has a well develop
health care system that covers the entre population. Still there are
significant potential to improve the efficiency of health care delivery
through new ways of working. India on the other hand has a less
developed health care infrastructure, but are at the present trying out
new and innovative ways of organising and delivering heath care to the
population. This gives us a possibility to learn between the two
systems, and to exchange knowledge about successful ways of working and
organising health care. LHC has initiated projects on health care organisation in India, and is currently working on establishing a more extensive cooperation between the two countries.
